Spectra V-AM-CG

Spectra V-AM is designed to remove common indoor and outdoor gases which contaminate and degrade the indoor air quality. Extruded activated carbon pellets are filled in panels of honeycomb structure and the granules are protected by a fine mesh scrim on both sides. Due to the filling of large amount of filter media inside the V-bank construction with eight panels, removal capacity is higher, and pressure drop is lower compared to other chemical filters. Depending on the application area, the extruded activated carbon media can be replaced with impregnated or blended media. The corrosion-free, rigid and sturdy construction have made it suitable for any harsh environment. Impregnated Media

Impregnated granules are a type of activated carbon that has been modified to enhance its adsorption properties for specific gases or vapors. In gas filtration, impregnated granules are used to remove pollutants that are not effectively adsorbed by regular activated carbon.
 
 Impregnated granules are produced by adding chemical compounds to activated carbon during the manufacturing process. The added compounds react with the activated carbon, creating a new material with enhanced adsorption properties for specific gases or vapors. The type of impregnating agent used depends on the target pollutant, and different agents can be used to enhance the performance of activated carbon for specific applications.

Activated Carbon

Activated carbon is an effective material for air filtration, as it can adsorb a wide variety of contaminants from the air. Coconut and charcoal are two common types of activated carbon used by Spectrum. Activated carbon is commonly used in gas filtration because of its ability to adsorb a wide range of gases and vapors.  The use of activated carbon in gas filtration involves passing the gas stream through a bed of activated carbon, where the pollutants are adsorbed onto the surface of the carbon. Activated carbon is highly porous, and its surface area can be as high as 1500 square meters per gram, which makes it an excellent adsorbent material.
